Central Counties Golf Association:

The purpose of the Association is the promotion of golf; to hold tournaments among its members; to maintain a scholarship program; and to have social functions in connection therewith for the enjoyment of its members.

The Association consists of thirteen golf clubs in Central Pennsylvania including:

  • American Legion Country Club - Mt. Union
  • Belles Springs Golf Course - Mackeyville
  • Clearfield-Curwensville Country Club - Clearfield
  • Down River Golf Course - Everett
  • Huntingdon Country Club - Huntingdon
  • Iron Masters Country Club - Roaring Spring
  • Lewistown Country Club - Lewistown
  • Mountain View Country Club - Boalsburg
  • Nittany Country Club - Mingoville
  • Park Hills Country Club - Altoona
  • Philipsburg Country Club - Philipsburg
  • Sinking Valley Country Club - Altoona
  • Summit Country Club - Cresson

The Association has five tournaments during the year: Two-man Best Ball; Individual and Team Championship; a Pro Am; Senior Championship and an Individual Junior Tournament. The tournaments have a rotation schedule every year.

When these tournaments are hosted by a course, they must adhere to the rules of the Association. In the event a member chooses not to play in the tournament, he or she may choose to play one of the other Central Counties Courses. You must call ahead to verify if the course is open to play. It is required to take a cart when playing these courses. All courses must have twenty players participating in tournaments each year to stay eligible in the guidelines of the Central Counties.

The Association has a scholarship program. The monies generated for the scholarship program are through the purchase of Central Counties Cards. These cards are only available to member courses of the Association. These cards are available in the Pro Shops. Courses to be eligible for the cards must have enough people participate in tournaments the prior year.

The only regulations with these cards are that you must take a cart when playing these courses and that you must call ahead to verify the course is open for play. Each course has different rules as to when it can be played. (No green fees.)

Members must present the club's membership card and the Central Counties card when going to these courses.

Juniors must participate in Central Counties events to be eligible for a scholarship. Juniors sixteen years of age may play in all events except for the Seniors Tournament. The Juniors' Tournament is open to age eighteen.

Juniors must play in two (2) tournaments during grades 9 - 12 school years. Each junior member must have been a member of his or her course for at least two (2) years.

Watch for posters on the Association's tournaments. If you have any questions, contact the Pro Shop or members of the Golf Committee.
